Smile Design

Your smile is very important. Smile is one of the

irst movements you’ve noticed when you meet someone, and it’s also one of the first moves that affect the other side. Smile is not only about the lips, but also about the teeth and gums behind it, including the jaw line.Aesthetic dentistry focuses on improving the overall appearance of a person by giving it a completely new look.

As smile design is personal, different application or applications are made to each person. the dental examination and the diagnosis of the patient, taking into account the patient’s  complaints different applications can be made as a result of the evaluations of mouth and tooth structure, facial features, skin color, tooth color, tooth shape, lip structure, gingival structure. These are; aesthetic lamina applications, full ceramic coatings, zirconium coatings, bonding applications, if there is a lack of tooth dental implant applications, gingival leveling applications, if the gums appear too much dental length extension applications, aesthetic tooth filler, botox and dermal filler, orthodontic treatments in extreme distrubution cases, detertrage and teeth whitening. Depending on the patient’s aesthetic and medical problems, one or more of these can be applied together.

Zirconium Teeth

It is a special white and special alloy used for replacing gray metal, which is the substructure of classical porcelain bridges and prostheses. In the treatment of highly renowned teeth, in disjoint, perplexed, or turned teeth, in old filled teeth with discoloration and broken structure, in the restorations of teeth with excessive material loss, can be used as a bridge or coating on the back teeth, on the front group of implanted prosthesis and to regulate the smile aesthetics.

What are the advantages of zirconium teeth in terms of aesthetics?

Thanks to its light transmittance feature, the image of natural teeth is fully captured. The enamel of healthy teeth completely passes the light. Metals which are the substructures of classical porcelain coatings create an opaque image in the teeth. This makes the teeth appear lifeless and artificial. This was prevented by zirconium.

What is the harmony of zirconium teeth with my teeth?

It is a tissue compatible material. The violaceus color of the gingiva in the neck of the teeth seen in metal-supported prostheses never occurs. It doesn’t cause gingival recession. If the gums are pulled because of incorrect brushing, it does not create an aesthetically bad image.

Is it applicable to people with allergy to metal?

Zirconium coatings do not contain metal therefore do not cause metal allergy.

Does it cause taste changes and odor in my mouth?

It does not cause any taste change because it does not contain metal content nor does it cause odor.

Do zirconium teeth change color in the future?

Smooth and slippery porcelain surface does not cause plaque build-up. For this reason, coffee, tea, cigarettes are not affected by colorants. The color remains constant.

How durable is it compared to porcelain and metal?

With the methods applied in recent years, zirconium crowns and bridges are as durable as the metal substructure crowns and bridges. Less fragility than porcelain. Compared to metal, the amount of stretching is less and the fragility is higher. This ensures that porcelain is better adapted to zirconium than metal. As a result, it minimizes porcelain fractures.

Are there any disadvantages of zirconium coatings?

Long toothless intervals are not recommended as the possibility of fracture in the rear areas will increase.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is the process of opening a few tonnes of colors by applying special whitening gels of darkened teeth that have changed color depending on the environmental factors or physiologically dark teeth. Teeth over time, insufficient mouth and dental care or cigarette, tea, coffee, colorful fruit juices, red wine, colorful foods and beverages to be consumed, some antibiotics used in childhood, such as factors such as yellowed, grayed, neglected and dirty look. Before the teeth whitening process, the teeth and stains are cleaned and a hygienic and clean mouth is provided to the patient. Then, the teeth are whitened by the choice of the tooth whitening method, taking into account the preference of the patient. Teeth whitening; office type whitening, household whitening, combined whitening (both office and home whitening) and single tooth (dental treatment in the teeth of the teeth) are done in 4 ways.Office-type whitening is the safest method because it is applied in the clinic under the control of the dentist. After applying a special gel to protect the gum and soft tissues of the patient, the teeth are treated with a bleaching agent. It is applied to the teeth from about 30 minutes to 1 hour by activating whitening and using special LED or laser beams at speeds. If necessary, this process is repeated twice a day for 2 or 3 times and the desired whiteness is reached. In domestic bleaching, after the measurements of the lower and upper teeth of the patient, special soft tooth bleaching plaques are prepared. Special whitening gels with a slightly lower density than their chemical density office type whitening gels are given to the patient in the tube. The patient uses these plaques for at least 4 to 6 hours until they reach the desired whiteness for about 2 weeks.

Combined whitening type is the most preferred and applied method. After the desired whitening under the supervision of a physician in the clinic, the patient will be given home-treated teeth whitening plaques and special whitening gels. Patient continues whitening at home according to request.

Single tooth whitening is applied on channel-treated teeth which are not treated with normal bleaching techniques to the tooth by adding a special tooth color opening agent and closing with temporary filling. The process continues until the desired color of the tooth is achieved. The bleaching agent is then removed and the tooth sealed with a permanent filling.

Porcelain Fillers

Esthetic dentistry, also known as inlay and onley, is a treatment method.

It is an aesthetic treatment that is applied to the teeth which does not have adequate dental tissue or that are not damaged enough to be covered.

It generally preferred in cases where the remaining stable tooth tissue cannot be restored with classic filling matrix after cleaning the caries on the rooted or highly decayed teeth. It is more aesthetic and robust than composite fillings.

Porcelain Lamina

It is the method where the teeth are thinned only 0.3-0.7 mm without cutting the teeth and the tooth tissue is lost in the least. This is the process of gluing the porcelain dental laminae to the thinned area.

When are porcelain dental laminae applied?

  • In highly colored teeth with no whitening result,
  • In teeth with structural form and poor shape,
  • Combining discrete teeth (diastema closure),
  • In the restoration of broken or worn teeth,
  • Color and structure of the correction of corrupted old fillings,
  • It can be an excellent cosmetic alternative to correction of perplexed and curved teeth (for alternative to orthodontic treatment).

How many sessions of porcelain lamina dental treatment lasts?

If you do not need a treatment or aesthetic intervention in your gums, you can have a new smile in 2 to 3 sessions which means in 1 week.

What are the advantages of porcelain lamina teeth?

  • The desired appearance is achieved with 0.3-0.7 mm abrasion process. The average processing time is 7-10 days.
  • They are made of durable, lasting and non-degradable materials.
  • The natural structure of your teeth without spoiling the desired aesthetic properties (color, shape, etc.) can be done with porcelain lamina. No change or little correction is performed on the tooth. The amount removed from the tooth is limited to 0.3-0.7 mm. Thus, no teeth need to be cut.with the appearance of a copy of your teeth which you are not satisfied a design is made.
  • That is, before the intervention in the teeth, the change in the teeth can be shown as a demo at the beginning of the treatment. This demo is called mock-up.
  • Porcelain surfaces are smooth and therefore minimize staining and tooth stone formation due to cigarettes and the like.
  • It does not change color with external factors such as coffee, tea and cigarettes.
  • It is very fragile as a material. However, when fully adhered to the enamel, its resistance to tensile forces is greatly increased. For example, it is not possible to remove a bonded veneer from the tooth as a whole. Only, a diamond burr can remove by abrading from the surface of the teeth.
  • It has High resistance to abrasion.

Full Ceramic Crowns

Metal or zirconium, without the use of any substructure, preferred for aesthetic purposes, is porcelain increased in durability. This feature of full ceramic crowns and bridges is very successful in terms of light transmission. Thus, the results that are most suitable for natural teeth can be obtained. It can be applied to teeth that have not lost vitality, have congenital tissue, shape and position disturbance. It is not preferred to use it especially for patients who have excessive tooth tightness and creaking.
